Amplifon and Aetna have expanded our contract to make it easier and more affordable for your patients with Aetna coverage to get hearing aids.
The following changes were effective beginning Monday, February 15, 2021.
Billing for Aetna’s commercial members with a hearing benefit through their employer-sponsored health plan. Amplifon will now bill Aetna for the funded portion, and Aetna will pay Amplifon directly. This means the member only pays for their portion of the hearing aids, if applicable, at the time of service.
Please note: This does not apply to Aetna’s Medicare Advantage plans with a hearing benefit administered by another vendor.
What does this mean for providers?
New approved hearing aid product list. Members with Aetna coverage will have access to more than 1,100 hearing aids in seven (7) different price tiers, starting at $500 up to $1895 per device.
